Mary Sullivan, PT

Mary is originally from Addison, IL and has a Master's degree in Physical Therapy from Carroll University in Waukesha, WI.  She has worked in outpatient orthopedics in Massachusetts, Maryland, and Nevada, before moving to northern Michigan.  Mary treats her patients with a combination of manual techniques with exercise to get get them back to normal function.  She enjoys spending time with family, running, hiking, crocheting, and scrap-booking.

Sandy Willoughby, PT, CSCS, CAPP-OB

Sandy Willoughby, Physical Therapist, CSCS, CAPP-OBSandy has been with NMSMC since 2006. She finished her Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan in 1992 and has been in outpatient orthopedics since that time. Sandy became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 2002.  As a mother of two, Sandy has a special interest in helping women during their childbearing years by treating pregnancy and postpartum therapy clients.  She developed The Sport Of Mothering in 2007 which offers prenatal and postpartum exercise classes and public speaking at childbirth education classes.  Sandy completed her Certificate in Pregnancy and Postpartum Physical Therapy in 2013 through the American Physical Therapy Association, Women's Health Section.  She is currently living in the Brutus area with her family enjoying small farming, camping, hiking, and snowshoeing.

Jeff Samyn, PT, OCS, CSCS

Jeff Samyn, Physical Therapist, Board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Jeff earned his B.S. in psychology and Master's in Physical Therapy from Central Michigan University.  Jeff has earned certifications both as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.  Jeff heads up our Worksite Medicine program, which focuses on ergonomics assessments, job analysis, post offer screening, and Functional Capacity Evaluations.  His expertise is in the management and treatment of back and neck pain, orthotic fabrication, and peripheral joint rehabilitation.  Jeff and his wife have a daughter and 2 dogs.  In addition to spending time with his family, Jeff enjoys mountain biking, fitness training, fishing, snow-shoeing, hiking and most other outdoor activities.

Margaret Bowers has been Marketing Director for NMSMC since 1999 and is active in our community and with local Chambers of Commerce.

Cathy Ingalls, DPT, GCS, CEEAA

Cathy Ingalls, Physical Therapist, DPT, GCS, CEEAA
Cathy is originally from Petoskey and graduated from Central Michigan University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She is a Board Certified Specialist in Geriatrics Physical Therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association. Cathy has over 7 years of experience as a physical therapist treating patients with various musculoskeletal dysfunction including total joint replacement, rotator cuff repair, neck and back pain. In addition, Cathy specializes in rehabilitation of balance deficits. She has completed extensive work in the identification and management of clients with balance deficits and will head-up our Frail to Fit Balance Rehabilitation Program. Cathy enjoys biking, cross country skiing, backpacking, running and practicing yoga in her free time.

Kim Voelker-Samyn, PT*

Kim is originally from Harbor Springs and graduated from Harbor Springs High School in 1998.  She graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor of Science degree in Public Health Education and Health Promotion.  She obtained her Master of Science degree in physical therapy also from Central Michigan University.  Kim met Jeff, her husband, while in the PT program and they are both now staff members.  Kim and Jeff are making their home in Harbor Springs with the black lab, Emmet.

Patty Schmoldt, AT, PTA, CSCS

Patty Schmoldt, Athletic Trainer,  Physical Therapist Assistant, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)Patty is a native of northern Michigan, growing up in the area and graduating from Boyne City High School. After high school, she attended Central Michigan University where she earned her Sports Medicine Degree and became a Certified Athletic Trainer. Patty worked in the Detroit Metro area providing clinical rehabilitation and high school athletic event coverage before returning to Northern Michigan in 2001.  When she isn't in the clinic, Patty enjoys playing hockey and softball as well as mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, camping, horseback riding, and snowmobiling

Jennifer Wolf, PTA

Jennifer Wolf, Physical Therapist Assistant
Jennifer is originally from Vero Beach, Florida and lived in Durango, Colorado for several years.  She received her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Macomb Community College in 2014.  Jennifer also enjoys teaching yoga.  Jennifer, her husband, Mike, son, Logan and daughter, Jada, enjoy skiing, mountain biking, growing their own food, and swimming in the clear blue lakes of Michigan.

Maria Scheele, LPTA

Maria Scheele, Physical Therapist Assistant Maria was born and raised in Cheboygan, MI and remains a current resident in the northern Michigan area.  She previously worked as an Aide at the Cheboygan clinic prior to finishing college.  She is a 2011 graduate from MacComb Community College as a Physical Therapist Assistant.  After graduation, she worked locally in a long term care facility for about a year.  She then re-joined the Sports Med Team in July 2013, were she fit right in.  There are many things Maria enjoys doing in the northern Michigan area, such as, cross-country and down-hill skiing, biking, camping, hiking, and spending time with friends and family on the many lakes boating, kayaking, swimming and enjoying the sun.  Travel is another one of her interests.  The most recent place she traveled to was Cancun, Mexico.  Recently, Maria took up running as a new hobby.  She completed her first 5k and mud run in the summer of 2013.  Maria's next goal is to someday complete a half marathon.

Juliann Plimpton, M. Ed, AT

Juliann is one of our many Yooper employees, growing up in Gladstone, MI.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from North Park University, Chicago, IL and a Master’s in Education from Southwestern College, Winfield, KS.  For the past 5 years, Juliann has worked with athletes at the collegiate level from Bethany College and Southwestern College.  Juliann is currently leading the athletic trainer department at the Inland Lakes High School. Juliann’s interest include camping, fishing, hiking, reading a good book, watching movies, swimming, volleyball and basketball.

Becky Bailey, PT, DPT

Becky obtained her Bachelor of Science degree and Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan in 1992 and 1994 respectively. She completed her doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in April 2007. Becky has worked in an outpatient orthopedic setting since 1994 with an emphasis on manual therapy and orthopedic rehabilitation. She and her husband both enjoy a variety of outdoor activities in northern Michigan.

Jennifer Charron, PT

Jennifer Charron, Physical Therapist, Clinic Manager Originally from Ontario, Canada, Jennifer received a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Arkansas Little Rock in 2002 and graduated from the University of Central Arkansas is 2004 with a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.  Jennifer is also certified as a personal trainer through American Muscle and Fitness.  She has worked in outpatient physical therapy since 2004 and has held the position of clinical director and head of an industrial rehab program.  She enjoys spending her time working with USYS (United States Youth Soccer) and ODP (Olympic Development Program) as a physical therapist providing field coverage nation wide and internationally.

Tanya Ruddy,MPT, MTC

Tanya Ruddy, Physical Therapist, MPT, MTC Clinic MangerTanya graduated from the University of Michigan – Flint with her Bachelor of Science in Biology, Bachelor of Health Sciences, and Masters of Physical Therapy.  She has worked in an outpatient orthopedic setting since 1996.  Most recently, she was a senior therapist at a multidisciplinary spine care center where she worked or 5 years.  She recently completed her Manual Therapy Certification through the University of St. Augustine.  Tanya also has an interest in pediatrics and has taken several courses in this area since the birth of her twin daughters: Eva and Ella.  They enjoy spending time with family, traveling, and boating.
